The Alutiiq Museum Presents
The Girl Who Married the Moon - An Alutiiq Legend
Exhibit & Video Debut

September 30, 2010, 7:00 pm

Once, long ago, when Alutiiq people lived in sod houses and traveled the world by kayak, a girl and her cousin fell in love with the moon.  Community members tell this enchanting tale through a short video inspired by the artwork of Kodiak High School students.  Learn the Alutiiq legend and see how it came to life in a project funded by the First Nations Development Institute, Native Youth and Culture Fund.  An exhibit of student artwork will accompany two short videos – an animation of the legend, and a documentary film about the project.

Produced with Suport from the
First Nations Development Institue

Sponsored by Steele Management
