Lycopodium spp., Diphasiastrum spp., Huperzia spp.
Six species of club moss grow in a variety of habitats throughout the Kodiak Archipelago. Club moss is not a true moss. It is a nonflowering, evergreen plant with club-like reproductive parts at the top of its branched stem. Its stiff, scale-like, overlapping leaves and low-growing habit help to identify the plant.
