From letter to Fr. Kashevaroff Sept. 16, 1926, the donor described location. Resemble somewhat Aleut masks found in Dall, BAE-ER Pl. XXIX, with flat broad nose and high forehead. Accn Book p. 129 reads 4 very old wooden masks found in cave at Semenofski Village.
Carved wooden mask. Humanoid features with high forehead and broad flat nose, with one round eye and one down turned semi lunar eye, much higher. Upper lip projects forward to apparently a chin area with two cuneiform shaped openings carved, as if for a mouth open at either side. Two holes drilled on either side, near outer corners. Some trace of red paint in are of nostrils and upper lip. Nostrils, two sided mouth, and eyes carved out.
