From letter to Fr. Kashevaroff Sept. 16, 1926, the donor described location. Resemble somewhat Aleut masks found in Dall, BAE-ER Pl. XXIX, with flat broad nose and high forehead. Accn Book p. 129 reads 4 very old wooden masks found in cave at Semenofski Village.

Carved wooden mask. Humanoid, with very high forehead and flat broad nose. Around the outside is a flattened extension, making a plaque-like object of the mask. Broken off at the edge of the upper lip, with only small extensions below on one side. Slit like eyes. Possibly traces of red paint at nostrils, which are carved out. Two holes on either side, and one at the top between the edge of the mask itself and the flat extension. On the reverse is a knob of the wood extending down the inside forehead area with hole drilled through sideways to the main axis of the mask.
