Gift of James Russell, listed in the Report of the Librarian and Curator of the Alaska Historical Library and Museum for 1920-21, p 2: "Two wooden quivers and four arrows from the western part of Alaska," II-B-1637 and 8 are the only wooden quivers in the collection, and are assumed to be the ones listed in the report.

Wooden quiver. One piece of red cedar, split in two and hollowed. Bottom was once part of the body, but it has come out. Quiver swells out to a larger diameter at the top. Pieces nailed together.

Probably Alutiiq or Sugpiaq origin, based on style and construction.
