Ovoid brass snuff box. A band of brass completely covers the sides and is joined by four rivets and solder. The bottom is wood as is the plug like top in the cent of which is a hole with a leather thong through it to serve as a pull handle. The box is lined with a soft wood. The appearance is more that of a wooden box with brass overlay than a brass box with a wood lining. Scratched on brass surface; "July 14, 1900, Kodiak, Alaska - Alexi G. Chichenoff" and other words.
