Obtained from dealer Walter Earl, Antiques Gallery, Anchorage. Earl identified the piece as from Prince William Sound.
Single bladed, 'T' grip paddle made of one piece of wood, painted red and black on the blade and near the junction with the handle. The 'T' grip is 6.3cm. wide. The paint scheme is a red band at the junction, two bands across the blade, at the tip of the blade. The rest of the blade is painted black. There is no other pigment on the paddle except for the spatters of white paint on the blade and shaft, and a small spot of red pigment on the grip.
