Source: Opdyke Estate (from Fred H. Furniss of Waterloo, likely collected at the World’s Fair of 1892) Artifact is labeled with the word Ugashigmiut—meaning people of Ugashik. This is an Alutiiq community on the Alaska Peninsula opposite Kodiak. The end blade and harpoon styles and materials are consistent with ethnographic examples from the region.
