Source: L. S. Coursin Estate Artifact has “Ugah Bay—Kodiak Island, Alaska” written on it. Lance style, material, and incised marking are consistent with other examples from the Kodiak Alutiiq region. A phonetically written Native word “Ul-tu-gack-tobuck” resembles a historically recorded Alutiiq word for whaling lance “ulukaryuk."
